Pop/R&B songwriter, artist, and actress Maya J (aka Maya Jenkins) has released her latest music video for her popular single “Trouble”. Maya J has been known to give her music videos unique names based on their content, and this one is no exception. She calls this music video “Copycat: The Movie” due to its plot line surrounding a very troublesome girl (“the stalker”) who is obsessed with Maya and with being Maya. The official story of the “Trouble” music video focuses on Maya frantically trying to get away from another girl who desperately wants to copy her every move, look, and accessory. Although the song itself is full of poetic sweet talk for a male lover, Maya J’s vision for the music video was to display a specific spin on the meaning behind the song. The mystery man who has initially caused this “Trouble” for Maya is not shown or mentioned at all in the music video, adding to the suspense and wonder the video has to offer.
