‘Krysie’ born Crystal Robinson, is a powerful Jamaican Singer/Songwriter pioneering a new vibe and movement with her music. Growing up in Kingston, Krysie found her musical talent in her early years,and used her self-motivation alongside the encouragement and support from her Grandmother to pursue her talents.
Jamaica is a competitive musical landscape, with various hugely successful artists and world renowned musical genres originating from the island, there are big footsteps to follow. However, this doesn’t dishearten the songstress from her passion and making her footprint in the industry. Even from an early age, she participated at various events from community shows to karaoke sessions,using these mediums as a means to be identified and aligned with music industry in her own way.
Krysie is signed to a new joint venture with ‘Warriors Musick Productions’ and the ‘Feed Tha Music’ label. Her only aim is to continue her musical journey, engage with her fans and produce more quality music to grow as a dedicated professional that she is. Her releases in 2018 so far have amassed over 25,000 views and streams combined in a matter of weeks, and she has a number of new releases in the pipeline via the FeedThaMusic label.
Her voice inspires her confidence, and many others too. It encouraged her to push her boundaries and challenge her potential by entering the likes of the Tastee’s Talent Search Competition. She landed third place and won best styled artist in the competition which encouraged her to continue crafting her artistic profile.Following her early musical ventures and competitions, her passion and persistence led her to participate in the Digicel Rising Competition, resulting in her being one of the top 10 finalists and acquiring more exposure in the public eye.
Krysie is often referred to as a Reggae and Dancehall artiste or ‘Singjay’, but her sound doesn’t limit her abilities to these two genre’s that Jamaica is well known for. She uses musical influences ranging from Beyonce, Etta James, Lady Saw and Bob Marley to inspire her sound, which varies from the genres listed above, but also to R&B, Soul and Pop. Her melodies, delivery and how she vocally caresses a beat indicates that she’s a musical anomaly and there’s a lot to come from this songstress.
